FindAGrave.com is a database containing photos and information from 162 million graves. Often there are pictures of the graves, but usually there is important vital information like birthdate, date of death, parents, spouses, and children.

Just go to findagrave.com‘s search page and enter as much information you know about your ancestor and begin the search. Note that only the surname is required (and be aware it is very sensitive to mispellings, so you should try a few variations of your ancestor’s last name if your first search is unfruitful)
